Cerritos was incorporated on April 24, 1956 as the City of Dairy Vally. The City's original name reflected the agricultural focus of the community. Dairy Valley had 32,000 cows on more than 400 dairies and 106,300 chickens on licensed poultry farms. The cows outnumbered the City's 3,439 residents by nine to one.

1959:The City voted on February 17 to become a California chartered city.

1967:The name change to Cerritos was made official on January 10.

1978:Cerritos dedicated the nation's first solar-heated City Hall complex. (太陽能發電)

2002:The 88,000-square-foot Cerritos Library was dedicated, featuring educational displays, an extensice art collection and conference center.

Home-ma said Cerritos Library is the most famous library in the U.S.

 I did not take pictures inside the library.
We visited only the Children's area. There are a huge dinosaur fossil at the middle of Children's area.
There are also many good designs which encourage children to enjoying reading.
Because many Taiwanese and Koreans live in this city, there are many books in Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and English.


The Cerritos Sculpture Garden is located next to the library.


Papyrus -- Paper made from the papyrus plant by cutting it in strips and pressing it flat; used by ancient Egyptians and Greeks and Romans.

I loved the city of Cerritos because it was very peaceful and clean.
There are several public art on the streets and trees on both sides of streets.
